Framing Carpentry: Interior partition, non-load-bearing walls,
decks, porches, etc.
Finish Carpentry: Installing all kinds of doors – pre-hung and from scratch interior and exterior complete doors or just doors in an old jamb, windows and all floors except carpet, interior trim (casing, base , shoe mold, chair rail, crown mold), plate rail, wainscot, from scratch paneled rooms and ceilings, book cases, window seats, shelving, exterior trim and siding, install new custom made (by others) laminate countertops, but not “post form“ off the shelf kitchen counter tops from big box stores unless they are to be installed between 2 walls and don’t have exposed end caps (because the end caps can not be made to stay on well) etc.
Drywall: Hang, finish, sand, repair, drywall and some plaster, and complete small rooms.
Hardware: ALL kinds hardware to include… all locks, bath hardware, grab bars, tub and shower doors, etc.
Painting: Done right! Painting is much about proper prep… interior and some exterior that is not over one story.
Plumbing: All sinks and faucets ,toilets , tubs , showers, disposals, water heaters, hot water dispensers, dishwashers, laundry set ups, sump pumps and their back up systems, frost free hose bibs (outside hose connections) slow drains, leaks, replacing all faucet, tub and shower worn out cartridges etc.
Electrical: Replace outlets and switches, GFCI and AFCI’s, dimmers, wireless 3 way switches, all light fixtures, ceiling fans, some trouble shooting, etc.
Miscellaneous: Rot repair and replacement of exterior wood, assemble Ikea-type products, some informal home inspection and consulting, act as liaison with other trades, some tile work, regrouting, and grout sealing, thorough recaulking of tubs and showers, internet searches for solutions to problems, some appliance repair, outside air conditioning unit and gas meter enclosures, stain removal of solid surface (Corian) sink bowls, power washing where appropriate, siding cleaning, sealing of brick and concrete, vinyl, wood, and other material siding repairs, weather stripping of exterior and windows, installation of screen, storm, and security doors, installation of commercial steel doors and frames, acoustic and suspended ceilings, one story gutter and downspouts and lower pitched shingle roof repairs and replacements, as well as opening to-street drain lines, and building main sewer lines (I use another contractor for big drain lines) maintenance and repair of higher end rental properties and other commercial properties, cleaning interiors and vents of proper venting for clothes dryers, staining and varnishing, etc.
